Bismarck, North Dakota – The majority of the state comes out of the grips of a drought that has lasted for several months as December begins.

There are approximately three-quarters of the state that do not have any dry or drought conditions, according to the United States Drought Monitor.

Only nine percent of the counties are experiencing moderate drought, while little under twenty percent of the counties are reporting unusually dry weather.

Five counties in the northeastern part of North Dakota, which accounts for around seven percent of the state, are experiencing severe drought.
