Mountrail County, North Dakota – Heavy fog caused a crash on Highway 2 just west of Ross on Thursday morning that involved seven vehicles, according to the state police.

Around 9:30 a.m., according to investigators, a Kenworth truck towing an empty sandbox trailer was traveling south on 93rd Avenue NW.

The motorist was struck by an SUV traveling westward when attempting to turn east onto Highway 2, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Five more eastbound cars were engaged in the collision as the truck tried to get off the highway into a safer area, according to the police, though it is unclear exactly what happened next.
